Krissy is a creative problem solver passionate about community-led social impact. After completing her undergraduate degree in Global Studies, she joined the Peace Corps as a Health Education Volunteer in Tanzania. This was her initial introduction to a human-centered approach to problem solving. After completing her service, Krissy received her graduate degree in public policy with a focus on conflict resolution.
For several years, Krissy worked in the international development and public health sphere as a project manager. Seeing the potential for technology to accelerate social and economic development, she began studying UX. As a federal contractor for the Department of Energy, she worked as a UX Designer on an internal portal transforming business/IT requirements and user stories into intuitive wireframes and interactive prototypes. She also conducted surveys, user interviews, usability studies, and competitive analyses to create personas for the General Services Administration’s Code.gov Program.
Krissy loves design’s focus on people and has seen first-hand the power of design to solve our community’s toughest challenges, whether it’s getting electricity in a rural village in sub-Saharan Africa, training immigrant and refugee women to be childcare providers in Pittsburgh or tackling affordable housing in the Pacific Northwest. Through her work, she hopes to embody and practice the design principles to bring forth worlds that are safer, more just, more accessible, and more sustainable for all.
Today, Krissy's found the best of both worlds as a UX Project Manager with Anthro-Tech. Her work focuses on connecting people and optimizing processes to deliver social impact. Krissy blends her creative and analytical skills to allow for effective collaboration with our team of UX researchers, designers, content strategists, accessibility specialists, and clients. Outside of work, she enjoys drinking iced lattes, reading fantasy books, soaking up the sun, spotting wildlife, and traveling with her growing family. We are proud to have Krissy on our team!
