These wins show how a human-centered approach, grounded in understanding real needs, not just deploying technology, creates better digital experiences for agencies and the communities they serve.

20th Annual w3 Awards

We’re honored to announce that our work with the Washington State Legislature and Washington State Capitol Campus earned twelve w3 Awards this season.

The w3 Awards: A Mark of Digital Impact

The w3 Awards recognize digital excellence based on innovation, user experience, and lasting value. Earning 12 awards across categories like accessibility, user experience, and data visualization shows that our solutions don’t just look good—they work, and they work for the people who rely on them.

Problem Solved: Cutting Staff Time and Customer Frustration

Before the redesign, the Washington State Capitol Campus team was overwhelmed by calls and emails. An outdated website meant the public couldn’t find basic information, leading to a flood of calls and emails and rising frustration for staff and customers alike.

Our Solution: We listened to their customers and used those insights to overhaul the site into a dependable self-service resource. The improvement was dramatic: users completed tasks successfully 78% of the time, and the site earned an 84/100 System Usability Score (SUS).

The Takeaway: We deliver measurable improvements that lighten your team’s workload and give customers the answers they need.

Problem Solved: Siloed Teams and Accessibility Compliance

Redesigning a website while keeping multiple teams aligned is never simple, and the  Washington State Legislature faced that very challenge. Their outdated site was hard to navigate, didn’t meet accessibility standards, and required coordination across 8 different workgroups to ensure the redesign worked for everyone.

Our Solution: We led a full website redesign and applied organizational change management to bring all eight workgroups together. Through a dedicated communications channel, open-house feedback sessions, and real-time collaboration, we created alignment and momentum. Along the way, we uncovered and fixed 28 accessibility issues to bring the site into WCAG compliance.

The Takeaway: First, we unify the teams. Then we deliver an award-winning, inclusive digital experience that works for both staff and the public.
