A toast to 2016.

It’s been quite a year! As 2016 comes to a close, we’re so thankful to be able to celebrate a number of successes with our client and partner teams.

This year, we’ve had the opportunity to:

Make a social impact

In partnership with our clients, we’ve been fortunate to research and design experiences that will support public transportation, better the environment, advance student success in education, simplify access to healthcare, and protect vulnerable populations by improving access to social services

This work allowed us to connect with our passion for making services and systems usable and accessible to all. It’s one of the many reasons we love working with government and non-profit organizations. 

We also tackled projects for innovators in entertainment, technology, financial transactions, and mobile application development for corporate clients in the Fortune 500.

Practice a wide range of research techniques, and innovate our approach

2016 afforded us the chance to design a wide variety of research studies that included focus groups, remote moderated and unmoderated usability studies, and traditional lab based usability studies, card sorting, ethnography, and many field studies in locations like libraries, conferences, train station, hotels and even ferry terminals.

Change mindsets and organizations

This year was filled with knowledge sharing! One step at a time, we are changing organizations to become more customer-centered.

We taught over 300 students across various user-centered design courses and workshops in usability testing, journey mapping, writing for the web, content strategy, rapid prototyping, research and institutionalizing user-centered design. 

In addition, we closely mentored our client UX teams and worked with leadership teams to define their customer experience vision.

Cultivate partnerships

We collaborated with outstanding partner teams with expertise in development, content management systems, event design, commercial-of-the shelf products, participant recruitment, global management and more.

These valuable partners help us expand our reach and deepen our ability to bring the best to every engagement.

Continually learn and grow

Conferences, classes and workshops – oh my! 

The team delved deep into topics including content management, accessibility, and service design. The best part is putting our learning into practice and 2016 gave us plenty of projects with opportunities to do just that. 

Share with the UX community

Not only do we enjoy teaching and mentoring our client and partner teams, we also enjoy sharing our learnings with the UX community. This year, we spoke at a number of conferences and events and published a few articles as well.
