Accessibility isn’t just a feature—it’s a fundamental right. By designing for the wide range of human diversity, we’re fulfilling the promise of public service: equal access, equal opportunity.

The Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the technology and digital product development culture by making accessibility a requirement. Their award celebrates our mission to build digital solutions that remove barriers and allow inclusive access.

Award-Winning Project: Washington State Parks Website Redesign

Our innovative redesign of the Washington State Parks website makes it accessible and inclusive for everyone, ensuring all visitors can easily plan their adventures and experience the beauty of nature.

Visitors can easily find parks by location, amenities like pet-friendly areas, and accessible restrooms. Accessibility improvements include screen reader support, speech recognition, and keyboard navigation. The site also offers easy reservations, real-time updates, and ways to give feedback. Using insights from 400 people, the new website is modern and inclusive—especially on mobile devices.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

This project reflects the values of the GAADY Award by:

  • Following WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards
  • Using feedback from people with disabilities
  • Making the entire user journey accessible

We thank the GAAD Foundation for this honor and our partners at Washington State Parks and Washington Technology Solutions (WaTech) for leading by example.
