Washington’s Department of Licensing (DOL)’s website, crucial for driver's licenses and ID cards, presented usability and accessibility challenges. Our human-centered design process, which included user research and testing with people with disabilities, resulted in a more concise and customer-friendly website. The revamped DOL website, recognized with two Communicator Awards, boasts a 5% increase in mobile users, a 9% improvement in content readability, and a 21-point jump in its ease-of-use score.
